Amina Faye and Anthony Skillman

BroadwayCon has announced that National High School Musical Theatre Awards winners Amina Faye (2016) and Anthony Skillman (2015) will perform during the second annual convention for theatre-lovers in New York City.

Also known as the Jimmy Awards (named for James M. Nederlander), the annual competition is a celebration of artistic achievement of high school students throughout the country. In 2016, the Awards featured 62 regional finalists from qualified theatre programs across the nation. The finalists came to New York City for a ten-day intensive that culminated in a final performance/competition at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre. Two students (one male and one female) are awarded the top honor, in addition to 18 additional awards and scholarships.

Faye, winner for Best Performance by an Actress at the 2016 Jimmys, is now a first-year at Penn State University majoring in musical theatre. Skillman won Best Performance by an Actor at the 2015 Jimmys.
