Judith Light recently earned her fourth Primetime Emmy nomination, for her performance as Marilyn Miglin in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The Tony winner joined Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones on The Today Show August 23 to talk about her experience.
“It's an upsetting story and a powerful story about a relationship and what people go through when they lose the person that they love,” said Light of playing the businesswoman whose husband was killed by the same man as Versace.
They do [live in me],” said Light of the characters she plays, “and it's also important to let them go.”
Light has been previously nominated for Amazon’s Transparent in 2016 and 2017, as well as Ugly Betty in 2007. She has won two Tony Awards—for Other Desert Cities in 2012 and The Assembled Parties in 2013—with one additional Tony nomination for Lombardi in 2011. She is a two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner for One Life to Live.
The actor is also filming the upcoming series Queen America for Facebook Watch.
