Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s return engagement of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, begins performances August 11 for an extended run through September 23.
Declan Bennett, Tyrone Huntley (who won the Evening Standard Emerging Talent Award for his performance in 2016), David Thaxton, and Peter Caulfield will reprise their roles as Jesus, Judas, Pilate, and Herod, respectively, in the production, which won the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival and Evening Standard Award for Best Musical.

With direction by Timothy Sheader, the limited run has design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Drew McOnie, musical supervision by Tom Deering, lighting design by Lee Curran, and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.
The Events Research Program was established to identify and track protocols that would help theatres and more venues safely welcome back audiences. Its findings have yet to reach producers and theatre operators.
