Scheduling conflicts for an upcoming film prevent the Little Dog Laughed actress from participating in the Williamstown run, which will be directed by Scott Ellis (Curtains). Kristen Johnston (The Women, "3rd Rock from the Sun") has replaced White for the production that will also feature Reg Rogers (The Pain and the Itch) and Bradley Cooper ("Alias," "Wedding Crashers").

Running on the Nikos Stage from July 23-Aug. 3, The Understudy takes place backstage during the Broadway run of a long-lost Kafka play where "the understudy is more than he's supposed to be, the star wants to be more than he is, and the stage manager just can't take any more," according to press notes.

Designing the production are Alexander Dodge (set design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Ken Posner (lighting design) and Obadiah Eaves (sound design).

Tickets are available by logging on to wtfestival.org or by calling (413) 597-3400.
