News Marlo Thomas Confirmed for Clever Little Lies in New York City Following earlier speculation, producers have confirmed that Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner Marlo Thomas will return to Joe DiPietro's Clever Little Lies for its Off-Broadway staging this fall.

Following acclaimed, sold-out runs at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse and at East Hampton's Guild Hall, Clever Little Lies, to be directed again by David Saint, will begin previews Sept. 18 at the Westside Theatre. An official opening night is slated for Oct. 14 with performances scheduled to continue through Jan. 3, 2016.

"After terrific runs at George Street Playhouse and Guild Hall, Clever Little Lies hopes to have a terrific run in New York City," Playwright DiPietro told Playbill.com in August last year. "Marlo is a theatrical treasure, and her work in the play is extraordinary." Further casting is yet to be announced.

Marlo plays Alice, a mother who suspects hidden secrets when she notices that her husband is off-kilter after a tennis match with their son. As she searches for the truth, "hilarious and shattering chaos ensues," according to production notes.

Thomas has starring in four Broadway shows, most recently Relatively Speaking. The daughter of comedian Danny Thomas, she played the title character in the hit TV sitcom "That Girl" 1966-1971).

Tony winner DiPietro is a co-creator of the Tony-winning musical Memphis. His most recent Broadway play was Living on Love, which opened this past May.
