News Matilda Star Oona Laurence Joins Cast of Indie Drama "Lamb" Oona Laurence, who received a Special Tony Award for her performance as the precocious title character in Matilda The Musical, will appear in the independent film "Lamb," Deadline.com reports.

The film adaptation of Bonnie Nadzam's debut novel was written and is directed by Ross Partridge.

Partridge will star as David Lamb, a man on a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies on a mission of self-discovery after his father dies and his marriage ends.

Laurence will play an 11-year-old girl named Tommie, who is described as awkward and unpopular and whom David is determined to help. Jess Weixler ("The Good Wife," "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby") is also featured in the cast.

Laurence has appeared in "A Little Game," "Louie" and "The Grief of Others." Partridge co-created the web series "Wedlock," starring Rob Corddry, with Mark Duplass.
