News McCarthy's Sunset Limited to Get Regional Premiere at Dayton's Human Race Theatre Dayton, Ohio's Human Race Theatre Company will present the regional premiere of The Sunset Limited, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy, beginning Oct. 25.

The Sunset Limited, according to press notes, begins "when a professor named White tries to commit suicide by throwing himself in front of the title train and is saved by a faith-driven ex-con named Black. When Black takes White home to his tenement apartment to mull the meaning of life, they find their ideas meld into shades of gray."

Human Race artistic director Marsha Hanna will stage McCarthy's work with a cast that includes Michael Kenwood Lippert as White,and Lindsay Smiling as Black. The production derives its name from the cross-continental train, the Sunset Limited, which runs from Florida to California.

The creative team for The Sunset Limited features Pam Knauert Lavarnway (scenic design), Carol Finley (costume design), Charlie Parker (sound design) and John Rensel (lighting design).

Cormac McCarthy is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Road." His works include "Blood Meridian," "Orchard Keeper," "All the Pretty Horses" as well as "No Country for Old Men," which has been adapted into a Coen Brothers film starring Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem.

The Human Race production of The Sunset Limited will officially open Oct. 26 and will continue through Nov. 11 at the Human Race's Loft Performance Space. Tickets are available by calling (888) 228-3630 or by visiting www.humanracetheatre.org.
