Hilary Maiberger will star as Jerusha Abbott opposite Max Chernin as Jervis. Performances are May 16–27 at the Kennedy Theatre.

Daddy Long Legs, based on the 1912 Jean Webster novel, is penned by Tony Award-nominated composer-lyricist Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre) and Tony-winning librettist-director John Caird (Les Misérables).

Set in turn-of-the-century New England, the musical tells the story of Jerusha Abbott, the oldest orphan in the John Grier Home. A mysterious benefactor agrees to send her to college under the condition that she write him a letter once a month, and through this correspondence, she shares her experiences of discovering literature, adventure, love, and self. Not knowing who her aid is, she dubs him “Daddy Long Legs.”

“We are so excited to have Broadway veteran and the original star of the Off-Broadway production of Daddy Long Legs, Megan McGinnis, directing this southeast regional premiere. It’s fair to say she has the insider advantage having also been involved in all the readings, workshops and out of town tryouts! We are so honored to have her leading this show and I can’t wait to share this special production with our audience,” said Lauren Kennedy Brady, artistic director of Theatre Raleigh.

The production will also have musical direction by Joanna Li, scenic design by Chris Bernier, lighting design by Christina L. Munich, costume design by Sheila Cox, property design by Zachery Rayburn, and sound design by Eric Collins. Mette Schladweiler is the stage manager, and the assistant stage manager is Darby Madewell.
