On December 22, Grammy- and Tony-nominated songwriter Sara Bareilles hosted Cast Album Karaoke live from the stage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
The first-ever Cast Album Karaoke took place September 14 and has returned approximately once a month due to the success of the after-show events. Interested audience members can sign up before the performance to sing one minute of their chosen Waitress song, accompanied by musical director Nadia DiGiallonardo and the Waitress orchestra.
Fast forward to the 20-minute mark, and Bareilles chimes in with fan Mike to sing “She Used to Be Mine.” Bareilles closed out the session (36:00) with a surprise live rendition of her hit single “Brave.”
