JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership and management of Forte Theatre Company, ensuring that the objectives of the organization’s mission and strategic plan are met. Reporting to the board of directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the administration and management of all business operations, finances, fundraising, marketing, and community engagement. In partnership with the Artistic Director, the Executive Director works to advance the overall success and sustainability of Forte Theatre Company.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning - Goal setting and measurement to ensure alignment with the budget and strategic plan. Work with the Board of Directors to identify and execute on the organization’s mission, values & objectives.

  • Budgeting & Finance - Work with the Board Treasurer and/or Finance Committee to develop an annual company budget. Establish and monitor both the annual company budget and individual production budgets to ensure sustainability.

  • Marketing & Communications - Produce an effective marketing strategy that includes website management, email communications, social media, public relations, advertising, playbills, and leveraging community relationships.

  • Fundraising & Development - Execute an effective fundraising strategy that includes individual donor stewardship, season sponsorship, grant applications, foundation funding, special events, and other community support.

  • Production - Collaborate with the Artistic Director to select the season and oversee production execution.

  • Front of House - Manage front-of-house staff.

  • Education - Develop the education program including promotion, registration, and community coordination.

  • Board Development - Collaborate with Board Chair to put together regular Board meetings.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Serve as liaison and face of the company at all events and in the community.

  • Promote the mission and value of Forte Theatre in all public-facing interactions.

This role is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours (averaging 30 hours/week) and the salary range is $30,000 - $32,500.
