Tony-winning Doubt playwright John Patrick Shanley is adapting his 2014 comedic drama Outside Mullingar for the silver screen.
Now titled Wild Mountain Thyme, the film will co-star Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Gray, A Private War) and Holliday Grainger (Cinderella, Animals) as star-crossed lovers embroiled in a family feud, according to Deadline. Francis McPeake and Robert Tannahill’s song of the same title will be featured in the motion picture.
Filming for the Ireland-set film will begin in Ireland and New York this summer.
Debra Messing and Brían F. O'Byrne starred in the 2014 Broadway production. Doug Hughes directed the drama that was nominated for a Tony for Best Play.
